Province of the Segan Monarchy continues to snub I.A.P.

Court Royal of Justice (Segania Prime), Province of the Segan Monarchy, Selevenar Galaxy, A.I.W. Sovereign Space (250106.28: June 28, 2001)-   The Province of the Segan Monarchy and the Province of the Maccotian Dominion exercised their strength as provinces of the new Alliance of Incorporated Worlds. With the use of the new executive veto powers granted to all the provinces of The Alliance of Incorporated Worlds, the Provinces were succesful in ripping to shreds diplomatic negotiations between the Intergalactic Alliance of Powers and the executive branch of The Alliance of Incorporated World's government. The A.I.W. seemed like a split government at the announcement of the veto blocking the extradition orders by the Council of Hokia, but so far the A.I.W. population is appreciating the bold moves made by the two Provinces.

The move is being viewed by the A.I.W. as a show of strength, affirming the A.I.W.'s full sovereignty over its territories. The Intergalactic Alliance of Powers in the end proved powerless to stop the A.I.W. trial taking place in A.I.W. soil, but many nations are not ready to let the issue die. The Romulan Star Empire and The Alliance of Incorporated Worlds, as well as the Klingon Empire are now experiencing a diplomatic crisis of sort. The Romulan Star Empire and the A.I.W. have no had such icy relations since before the dawn of the 26th Century. The Klingon Empire has received some harsh wording from The Alliance of Incorporated Worlds' new Ambassador to the I.A.P., and the Chairman likewise replied with harsh words. But the word-war between these two "allies" has moved to the next step, the A.I.W. motioning a vote of no confidence with the Chairman.

The Court Royal of Justice heard the opening arguments of the Defense and Prosecution. The Prosecution argued that the 4 Romulan suspects were all involved in a pre-meditated assault on innocent civilian lives, an assault that was made in the name of the Romulan Tal Shiar, in the name of the Romulan people. The Defense argued that the suspects had been detained illegally, using evidence that was illegally acquired, as well as false. Present at the trial were high-ranking members of the Royal Family, the Crown Prince was expected to preside over the session tomorrow. The Court Royal of Justice is proceeding with what is being termed a Segan-style court case in compliance with A.I.W. law.

Whether the Interstellar Community is ready or not, the Court Royal of Justice is proceeding quickly with the case, and is expected to render verdict within two weeks. Due to privacy regulations, A.P.N.N. and other news media agencies have been refused access to the Court, although observers from the Interstellar Community have been granted limited access on a case by case basis. The Royal Family expressed their hopes that the Interstellar Community would choose to acknowledge Segan legal ownership of the case. Whether that hope would be fulfilled, depends very much on the I.A.P., and the verdict.
